Welcome to the new Lakes-Antioch Lacrosse

New Youth Program

For more than a decade, lacrosse has been one of the fastest-growing team sports in the country, and that trend continued last year. In 2013, nearly 750,000 players participated in lacrosse on organized teams, an increase of nearly 25,000 players from the year before. More than half of the total players compete at the youth level (age 15 and below), but every segment of the game is showing continued growth patterns.

Although lacrosse is a spring sport, we will have a fall ball team for anyone interested in playing or trying it.

Attention Lacrosse Families:

As the President of the Lakes/Antioch Youth Lacrosse Program and an advisor for the transition team of our highly successful LALC (Lakes-Antioch Lacrosse Club), to District 117 High School Lacrosse; I want to make it officially clear that the LALC Youth Lacrosse Club is not an official feeder program for District 117 high school lacrosse, but an area youth lacrosse club which welcomes athletes from ALL surrounding communities.

Working in close partnership with the high school coaches and trainers will offer us unique advantages and opportunities that we will able to incorporate into our youth coaching and player development. Working closely in conjunction with these coaches over the years has earned our program, youth directors and coaches’ supportive approval from such well-regarded parties.

Some of those accolades and worthy mentions are:

The District 117 Coaches eagerly support LALC for reasons of:

  • The club is invested in growing the game of lacrosse to ensure there are ample number of youth players to support both Lakes and Antioch high schools along with any other local area high school.

  • Club board consists of members of the Lakes and Antioch High school communities whose goal is to support the growth of the high school program(s).

  • Coaches have both playing and coaching experience, and are highly trained in the rules of the game to ensure proper skills and fundamentals are taught correctly.

  • Director of Coach Development is very experienced in playing and developing practice plans for all age and skill levels (U9 – Colligate).

  • Professional development for the coaching staff is mandatory.

  • Several coaches have established relationships with college coaches from Division 1– Division 3 colleges and club level.

  • Experience with the college recruitment process.

  • Our coaches have had multiple players go on to play at all levels of college lacrosse.

  • Active in the NWCYLF and US Lacrosse Association.

Lastly, current high school lacrosse coaches will be working closely with the LALC youth coaching staff to ensure players are properly prepared for high school level play and are familiar with both the coaching and playing styles of District117.  We are dedicated to helping players achieve their maximum potential on and off the field while becoming well rounded athletes and citizens of their communities.
